Information for Members

 Riai Aikido offers students training in traditional Iwama Ryu Aikido.  In the tradition of Iwama Ryu, training includes both Buki Wasa (weapons training) and Taijutsu (unarmed training).  It also offers students a system designed to develop both body and mind through training in basic Taijutsu, Buki Wasa, applied techniques, meditation, awareness training and fitness.

Through training in Iwama Ryu Aikido, the aim of both student and instructor at Riai Aikido will be to:

a)      Develop a safe and supportive environment that allows all students to enjoy their training.

b)      Provide an environment that nurtures the pursuit of excellence through Martial Arts.

c)      Provide students with a system of instruction and support that promotes the effective training of Aikido technique and development of mind and body.

d)      Teach, learn and practice the techniques, philosophies and culture inherent within Aikido.

e)      To teach and practice the effective techniques and principles of self-defense and the Martial Arts of Aikido.

f)        To promote fitness, self-awareness and self-confidence through the training of Aikido techniques, relaxation and meditation.

Objective

Riai Aikido is committed to providing its students with a positive experience geared towards the development of body and mind through training in Aikido.  Riai Aikido is also committed to providing a supportive and friendly environment in which to train.

Membership

Membership is required if you wish to train at the Riai Aiki Kaikan.  A cost of  $80.00 (inc. gst) will be charged on a yearly basis for membership.  This membership charge will include the following:

a)      Membership for 12 months.

b)      Grading fees for 12 months (no additional Kyu rank grading fees will be charged)

c)      Belt upon passing kyu grading.

d)      Personal injury insurance for 12 months.

 Monthly Fees

A monthly fee of $80.00 (inc gst) will be payable by the 1st of each month.  Students will also be able to pay their monthly fees quarterly. 

Casual Fees

For students who wish to train on a casual basis a casual rate will be available.  A rate of  $15.00 per class will be charged on a per class basis.  This fee can either be paid on the night a student attends, or in advanced.  These students will also be required to become a member (see membership fee above).
